About the Image Border Adder

The Image Border Adder tool runs entirely in your browser. Drop or select an image, choose the width, color, and style of the border, and click Add Border. The border is drawn on a new canvas sized to fit the original image plus twice the border width. Four styles are supported: Solid (a single filled rectangle), Double (two parallel rectangles with a gap), Dashed (segmented strokes around the perimeter), and Rounded (rounded-corner clipping with a filled border frame). The image is centered inside the new canvas and the result is downloadable as a PNG. Nothing is uploaded — everything happens locally with JavaScript on your device.

How to use the tool

  1. Click the drop zone or drop an image file onto it.
  2. Adjust the Border width, pick a color, and select a style.
  3. Click Add Border to render the border around the image.
  4. Click Download to save the result as a PNG, or Clear to start over.

Frequently asked questions

What is the maximum border width? The slider accepts values from 1 to 100 pixels. Larger widths create a thicker frame around the image.

What is the difference between the styles? Solid draws one filled border. Double draws two parallel borders with a gap. Dashed creates segmented strokes. Rounded clips the corners with arcs.

Does this tool upload my images? No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your image never leaves your device.

What is the output format? The download is a PNG file. This preserves transparency and avoids compression artifacts.
